
On the sunny Sunday of March 7th ,the motoring enthusiasts of Sri Lanka thronged at the AAC HQRS to see the carnival of “old crocs” which they have not seen for many years on the Colombo City Road.
This was an exciting event with a display of a rare collection of many types of vintage vehicles.
A motor Rally commenced from the AA Hqrs and made its way through Slave Island,Horton Place,Bauddhaloka Mw cutting across Dickman’s Rd and Galle Rd and flagged off at the Galle face Hotel.
Prior to the Rally at the AAHRQS premises an official ceremony was held to inaugurate this rally headed by Mr Dhammika Attygalle President of the AA and Mr Farih Fauz President of the Vintage Car Owners Club.
Distinguished VVIP’s including Hon Minister Alavi Moulana, Governor Western Province, Mr Prassittidesh Vichitsorsatra-Deputy to the Ambassador Of Thailand, Mr Anuradha Wijekoon,Deputy Commissioner of the Registrar of Motor Vehicles were amongst those present,which was followed by a fellowship.
This was a memorable day for those who were present and which will be rembered for many years to come.
